Consultant Profile

Nick Graham

Nick Graham, Director of Strategy, New York

I joined Clear in 2006 from innovation strategy consultancy Big Green Door. Originally based in London, I am now one of the directors of Clear New York, where I head up the quant and brand strategy teams. The most rewarding parts of my job are building long-term partnerships with clients, working hand in hand with them to help transform their businesses' approach to brand & innovation strategy, and helping the team to unlock their innate potential by striving to give them the formal & informal opportunities they need to learn, grow & develop.  Clear is an incredibly stimulating and empowering place to work… where people love to spark off of one another, where every challenge is seen as an opportunity to grow, and where every single person feels that they have a stake and a say in making our business a success.

 Anna Cordon

Anna Cordon, Senior Strategy Consultant, London

I joined Clear in 2008 and there is rarely a dull moment. This is most definitely due to the combination of people and the variety of work, which together give Clear it’s fun, committed and highly-energised atmosphere.

To date, I have spent some time in Clear’s quantitative and strategy teams and have also honed my qualitative skills along the way. I have yet to work on a project which hasn’t made me think about things differently or taught me new skills. I have also grown through working alongside colleagues with a broad spectrum of backgrounds – client side, brand consultancy, management consultancy and market research.

As a Senior Strategy Consultant I focus on working with clients to develop brand positioning, growth strategies and portfolio architecture across virtually every category and a wide range of territories…although I am still holding out for a project with a big fashion house! It’s always a nice feeling and extremely motivating to see our work drive business growth for our clients.

Otto Ruijs

Otto Ruijs, Head of Strategy, Clear Asia

I joined the Amsterdam office of Clear in January 2007 after having worked for an innovation strategy consultancy for 5 years. People I met during my interviews possessed a rare mix of qualities, coming from research agencies, strategy consultancies, advertising agencies and client side positions, and they were all so extremely passionate about what they were doing that I really wanted to be a part of that.

The next 3 years were a steep learning curve for me, and allowed me to work on some of the most amazing client projects across Europe. Whether I was immersing myself for a week with students in German cities to ‘study’ beer brands, bars and the night life, or running a 2-day brand positioning workshop for an FMCG in Copenhagen airport, or travelling to Russia in winter to explore female body cleansing behaviour – it’s been a rich and rewarding experience. The most fulfilling element of my work is when real trust starts to emerge in a client relationship – when my clients acknowledge our added value and when they see that great insight is nothing without the actionabiltiy and the strategic context we provide.

In 2010 I moved to Hong Kong, to help build & develop Clear’s strategy offer in Asia. We started lean and mean but because of the huge potential in Asia we are now a rapidly growing team.  I love the mix my work entails: working with clients across Asia on creative and strategic solutions to help their brands grow, but also being able to continuously innovate our own Clear thinking and taking that to new & existing clients to make our own business even better and smarter.
